Wedding Day Emergency Kit

In the final days before your wedding, it can feel like there is so much to get done! But one of the most important items on your to-do list should be to create a Wedding Day Emergency Kit. This is a small bag you’ll put together to bring while you get ready, and then assign to someone in your wedding party to have on hand for the rest of the day. At some point during your wedding day, something will rip, or an eyelash will fall off, and you’ll be glad you planned ahead so you can fix it and get back to your incredible celebration!

For Pain or Illness:

One of the great things about the wedding day emergency kit is that it’s there for everyone in your wedding party, not just you and your partner. Whether someone had a few too many drinks at the rehearsal dinner or forgot to break in their shoes, it’s always a good idea to bring some general over-the-counter medications with you. If you or your partner have any prescription medications or an EpiPen, you’ll most definitely want to include these in your bag as well. It’s always better to be safe than sorry on your wedding day.

1. Bandaids

2. Tums

3. Advil or Tylenol

4. Benadryl (or Epipen)

5. Prescription Medications

6. Tampons

7. Tissues

8. Mints

Wedding Clear Umbrella

In Case of Bad Weather:

If any part of your wedding day is taking place outside, you’ve probably kept a close eye on the weather. Still, predictions can be wrong, and it’s a good idea to pack some items just in case of a last-minute change. Heel stoppers are also great if it rains the day or two before your wedding since it can take quite a while for the ground to dry up.

2. Clear umbrella

For Makeup Mishaps:

If you have a large number of people in your wedding party getting their hair and makeup professionally done, there will likely be quite some time between the first person’s application and the actual wedding. While most hair and makeup vendors will do final touchups on everyone right before they leave, it’s good to bring some backup items to the ceremony and reception just in case.

1. Lash glue

2. Blotting papers

3. Floss

4. Q tips

5. Tweezers

6. Bobby pins

7. Deodorant

Wedding Emergency Kit Groom

For Wardrobe Problems:

Finally, and possibly most important, are the items to make sure that everyone’s outfit looks and fits great. This is especially important for the men in your wedding party if they are renting suits — I’ve seen some rentals show up in the completely wrong size or even with holes in them! While it may. Not be possible to pull off a full hem adjustment on the wedding day, a sewing kit and some safety pins can save you from any full-on wardrobe disasters.

1. Sewing kit

2. Safety pins

3. Crochet hook (for buttons)

4. Lint Roller

5. Tide pen

6. Fashion tape

Having an emergency kit on hand for your wedding day can save you from any major disasters. While our list has all of the basics you might need, it’s a good idea to take the time to mentally walk through your wedding day and think about any items that might specifically be helpful to you and your partner. In the end, I’d always recommend over-packing your emergency kit than not bringing something and wishing you’d had it.
