How to Choose A Wedding Planner on The First Look

The First Look is the only service of its kind, so it makes sense that our couples would have questions! A common question we’ve come across is, “There are so many great planners! How do I know which one I should pick?”. So, we’ve created a quick 3-step guide for how to choose which one of our wedding planners is right for you!

  1. Find a planner that’s familiar with the area you are getting married in.

You may notice that each of our planners’ profiles lists a region in which they operate. This is because it’s one of the most important parts of choosing a planner! If you’re getting married near where you live this is a super easy step. However, if you’re choosing a destination wedding or getting married near family instead of your current city you want to make sure you’re choosing someone familiar with the city in which the actual wedding is taking place. This way, your planner can connect you with vendors they’ve worked with before AND they’ll be familiar with the price ranges of items in that area. Cities around the US can have drastically different wedding markets, so you really want to make sure you take this into consideration!

2. Check out past event photos and reviews.

While most planners create events with a range of styles, taking a peek at their past events can help narrow down who you’d like to choose. If an image jumps out at you, let them know! They can probably connect you directly with the other vendors who helped that image come to life. Reviews are also super important when choosing a planner. Although we choose only highly qualified and professional planners to host on our platform, hearing the words directly from a past couple might help you find the perfect fit.

3. Consider your budget and their experience.

All of the planners on The First Look are categorized as either Senior or Associate Planners. Our senior planners have a minimum of ten years of experience in the wedding world, but come at a higher price point than our Associate planners. Sitting down with your partner to decide whether you want to spend the money on a more experienced planner can help you to choose the best planner for your day and your budget.

That’s it! An easy-breezy guide to choosing the right wedding planner on The First Look. At the end of the day, we’re confident that every single planner on our site provides incredible service and will make your day spectacular, but following these steps will help you to make the perfect decision. Remember, our planners are here to help you no matter where you are in the wedding planning process, so don’t hesitate to set up a call with even the most obscure questions! And if you have any further questions about our planners or how to choose, feel free to reach out to us at contactus@thefirstlook.com
